I acknowledge that I am a fan of Canon cameras and the EOS Digital Rebel line has always been a personal favorite. The Rebel Xsi performs puts forth a most professional performance at a reasonable price, and is sure to please both the budding amateur and professional photographer alike.

Many bought the EOS XTi (400D) for so many years, that Canon was prompted to introducing the next evolution in this lineup: EOS XSi (450D). In this new model, Canon no longer uses “Digital” in the naming of the camera, calling it simply the EOS Rebel XSi or the EOS 450D.

The best stay at the top of the digital camera market because while they lack many features of other digital cameras they are able to provide point and shoot style photography. By providing this convenience most people are more likely to want to purchase one, so that they are easily able to transport and have it available when a photo opportunity should arise.

The Digital Rebel XTi and the Digital Rebel XT SLR cameras are comparable in price, but for the features and megapixels, they are very different. The XTi provides 10.1 megapixels while the XT has 8 megapixels. The XT does have a DIGIC II image processor but so does the XTi. The frame burst is different on each with the XT 14 and the XTi having 27. The best camera for the Canon Rebel is the Canon Rebel XTi.

Between all the Canon SLR cameras listed here, the best camera is the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III.

Of course, Canon is just one player in the field of digital SLR cameras. Nikon has some pretty nice models to look at, as do Pentax and Olympus.

These are only two of the best compact digital cameras that are available on the market today. All you need to do is determine what features that you want your camera to perform and you are sure to find a compact digital camera that will meet your needs.
