How To Pick The Right Digital Camera
July 31, 2009
If you have walked into a Walmart or Target recently you may have seen the hundreds of digital cameras on the shelves. The ones that usually catch your eye are the cameras that are low priced. Especially in an economy like this, practical people want to save money, but buying a digital camera is not all about the price.
Before the digital camera boom, there were only a few camera brands that were successful. Now there are thousands of imported brands that tout cheap prices and great features. The question we have for these new companies is if they have truly passed the test of time.
Although there has been a big digital camera boom, there is still something to be said of the brands that have been around for a while. Even though there are tons of brands, many of them are made with cheap materials to lower the cost. This in turn will lower the quality of lenses and other camera materials.
Many wonder why these brands are considered to be the best. The first thing we would tell you to do is to pick up a Kodak SLR camera and then to pick up a Canon SLR. The first thing you will notice is the weight and that the canon does not have the “cheap” feel to it as it is made of quality materials. You will also notice that the lenses are much bigger on a Canon or Nikon and can be interchanged with other lenses of the photographers choice.
Another really neat feature of a better brand means that accessories are also high quality. Nikon and Canon cameras can work with many other kinds of lenses that can truly give you the effect you are looking for and want. Other cheap brands just can’t give you this type of versatility and are not made for the serious eye popping photographer.
Yes the prices are higher for Canon and Nikon, but you get what you pay for, especially in the world of photography.
