How To Start Your Own Photography Blog

Digital photos are everywhere you go these days! Using digital pictures instead of the traditional film photos is cost-effective, there is no wasted paper to end up in landfills and they take up virtually no physical space at all! It seems like almost everyone has a cell phone camera these days that can snap photos of just about anything in a matter of moments.

Whether you are a professional photographer or an amateur camera user you’ll still appreciate the ease of digital photography. And what is better than just snapping lots of digital pictures is the fun way you can display them to other people. There are many different ways to let others enjoy your photos, from digital picture frames to printing them out to keeping them on your cell phone.

One of the most fun ways to share your photographs to others is with a photo blog. A blog is a website that allows an photographer to post instant updates onto Internet about just about any subject imaginable. A photo “web log” can feature the digital images you took on any given day or trip. You can include your written thoughts about your photographs and you can inform people about why you snapped the photos and what was happening when you took them.

Most blogging sites are fairly simple to get started with. To begin a photography blog you just need to find some free blogging software and pick a blog name. You just type your comments out in a post, insert your digital photographs from your PC and the blogging software pretty much does the rest. When you are satisfied with a post you “publish” it and anyone on the internet can instantly read it!

Remember a blog can be a 2-way communication site! With a photo blog you can not only share your photos with others but you can also allow people to comment on your posts. Getting commends from views to your blog is part of the excitement of putting your images online. If you allow comments on your images then you can also learn what other people like and don’t like about your images.

It’s your photography blog and you can put up photos of whatever you like. You can post some photos of a recent trip one day and then post images of some grass in your front yard the next day. Don’t worry about always writing a article that’s going to make other people happy. Just try to have a good time with the ability to share your electronic images so easily with your own blog!
